'View from Carlton house terrace VE Day 80th celebrations week, painted in sunny evenings. I noticed this lovely view when I started going to the Mall galleries a lot recently for the Royal Society of portrait painters annual exhibition, the nearest I’ve got in nearly 50 years of painting London to painting a view of Piccadilly Circus!'
