'This was done in the evening, in the evening light, near where I live off Caledonian Road. That’s the bridge across Caledonian Road and in the distance is the opening of the Islington Tunnel. You see that tiny bit of light at the end? I do lots of paintings of the Islington Tunnel on that side, which I really love. And I just thought for a change, I’d do the other side! I thought it looked really lovely with the light on the bridge, the shimmering water ... '
