'This is of a beach in Devon, and I went there with someone I’d been teaching. He started a little group of painters and we used to go away quite often. We rented a cottage and we all went to Devon, I did a few paintings there. I did this in one day. It was summer, it was a really lovely day, really lovely scene. I really liked doing the pebbles.'
